Thank You
Dear PFC Danny Engesser,
Thank you for your service as a Machine Gunner. We remember all you who gave their all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Friend
I met Danny during ITR...we became immediate friends and I introduced him to my friend, Larry, who lived in Compton,Calif. We went on liberty as often as we could during training..with Danny dating Larry's sister and I dated Larry's cousin. It was a blast..lots of fun and laughs!! I remember him running with that "gimpy" leg while I was going off to Language School..last memory of him..etched in my brain!! One of saddest days of my life...Sept. 15,1967..I stepped off of plane a Danang..a friend from "GUN" school, Gladden, saw me..first words out of his mouth.."Danny's dead"(he knew we were close). He showed me a "stars and Stripes" or "leatherneck" I don't tremember..but Danny's name was printed w/KIA!! Hurt me to my soul..I remember thinking, "welcome to Vietnam"!!!!!!!!!!!!
