We combat assaulted by choppers into a small open area. We were trying to support A Company, who had been in heavy contact the previous day. The NVA had dug into the tree line of the open area to ambush any troops landing there. We spent the day and that night fighting to stay alive. George "The Greek" Avgerinos, Gene Elder, BobLeaman, and Billy Thomas did not survive.
