Everett Allan Eastman

As a first grader, "Jim" decided he did not want to be called Everett, Ev or Jr., so he told his teacher his name was Jim and throughout his life he was "Jim" to family and friends.
Jim attended the University of Illinois, leaving school to join the Marine Corps where he attained the rank of Captain and earned both rotary and fixed wings. He resigned his commission and returned to school but decided civilian life was not for him. He entered the Army under the Warrant Officer program and completed both the rotary and fixed wing schools. Shortly before returning to Vietnam for a second tour he received his Masters Wings. Among his citations and decorations were the Distinguished Flying Cross, Asian Pacific Ribbon with one bronze star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze star. He also received the Vietnam Military Merit Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal with 19th Oak Leaf Cluster and Armed Forces Honor Medal, Second Class presented posthumously.
