Dear Donald Lee Dyreson,
I am a sophomore at Gridley High School in Gridley, Illinois. I am posting this remembrance as part of the Gridley High School Posting Project. I have realized that I owe it to you to honor you and thank you for your service. My words and small amount of time can not do justice for what you did for this country. You left all you had to fight for your country and what you believed in. You ended up giving the ultimate sacrifice: your life. Thank you very much soldier and God be with your family and loved ones.

Dear Donald,

I am proud to say that you were a great American soldier. You fought for the belief of enduring freedom. You fought with an unprecedented level of valor and bravery. You were fearless and bold. You were a protector of this great nation. Thank you for your service and may you never be forgotten as one of Portland's best men.

Although we never met personally, I want to thank you Donald Lee Dyreson, for your courageous and valiant service, faithful contribution, and your most holy sacrifice given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore Marine, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!
