A letter
Dear Mr. Leo P Dunsmore:
You were only 21 when you died in Quan Hung Tra Provinage, Vietnam. You attended Warwick Veterans Memorial High School, which is where I play at the Band Festival every year. It's weird to see someone so young dying for their country, some of you might not have even known why you were there. And you went anyway, which makes you a bigger person than I. Just so you know, you were awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, The Bronze Star and an air medal after you died. I just wanted to thank you for fighting for our future, for my classmates future, for my future. Thank you

What a Mistake
I remember it quite well
Though it was a long time ago
I can tell you a story
There was a boy who went in search of glory
From Rhode Island he came
Leo Dunsmore was his name
Serving for the Army
He paid with his life
In the war of Vietnam
But just maybe he could have lived a few more years
What he missed we do not know
A spring's rain or a winter's snow
Having a family a wife and son
Or enjoying a lofe of love
But he has passed for his country
Risking his life for the likes of my kind
His courage and bravery are the ties that bind
Leo Dunsmore we are proud of you
You won't be forgotten
