Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. That you died in Vietnam after the tragedy you endured when your entire family perished in Hurricane Carla is unspeakably tragic. May you rest in eternal peace.

So many stories I’ve heard throughout my life about my cousin Robert. How you lost all of your immediate family in hurricane Carla and my grandfather offered for you to move in with them and you decided to stay with a friend. My grandfather was your cousin and last member of your family. When you passed in Vietnam my grandfather was devastated and so was my father. My dad looked up to you so much. I’ve only heard stories and read different things strangers have posted about you over the years. Just know you may not have had kids but your legacy lives on in us!!! I have your Honor and Remember flag with your name across it. I display it proudly and when asked I tell your story. Till we meet cousin. Love you xoxo

Thank you for your service as a Field Artillery Cannoneer. Your 72nd birthday is next week, Happy Birthday. Independence Day is approaching, and we remember your sacrifice. We remember all you who gave their all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
