Thank You
Dear Lt Roy Dunbar,
Thank you for your service as a Field Artillery Unit Commander. Independence Day is approaching, and we remember your sacrifice. We remember all you who gave their all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

You are not forgotten
You joined me with Alpha 1/20 when you came in country. I taught you how we called in and adjusted artillery. Someone told me you were on a tank when you were shot. I have never forgotten you.

You are not forgotten
Lt Dunbar and I spent less than one week together with Alpha Company 1/20 in April of 1969 as I familiarized him with the duties of an Artillery Forward Observer in Vietnam. I remember him as a fine and bright officer. I have met and forgot the names of many men I served with in Vietnam but I have always remembered Lt Dunbar. This is the 50 anniversary of our classes of 1967 and Tuesday May 16, 2017 will be the 48 anniversary of his death. Rest In Peace brother I will ever forget you and you sacrifice to our country.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear 1LT Roy William Dunbar Jr, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter
