THE WALL OF FACES

Toward the end of my year in Vietnam, Ray flew his chopper down to see me at LZ Thunder. He and I had gone to OCS together at Fort Belvoir, and he was the pilot for the commanding officer of our Engineer group. He had dropped his CO off somewhere for a meeting, had found out where I was, and just flew on down to Thunder to say hi. I'll never forget his thougfulness then, and his Texican sense of humor when we were at Belvoir. I think of him often.

Ray and I were teammates on the University of Texas baseball team. He was a very good LH hitter with power and a nice guy. I have known about his death since it happened, and I found his name on the wall in DC. RIP, Ray. You are remembered and admired.

Dear Captain Dulak,
Thank you for your service as a Helicopter Pilot. Independence Day is approaching, and we remember your sacrifice. We remember all you who gave their all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
