THANK YOU
Dear CPL Peter Dube,
Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Infantryman. Independence Day is approaching, and we remember your sacrifice. We remember all you who gave their all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Peter, you have NOT been forgotten
Several years ago, I received a call from a Vietnam Vet who lives in Arizona. He asked if I knew how he could contact a relative. At that time, I couldn't find a local relative. He had purchased (in an Arizona yard sale) a framed remembrance, which a loved one had created. The glassed frame (26" x 38") contained your Bronze Star award, a Portland Press Herald "Memorial Day 1969" article, and four letters from the military. The Newspaper article referenced the death of 243 Maine Vietnam Veterans. Your name and the name of your local comrades was listed in honor of your sacrifice. I'm hopeful that I will locate one of your relatives to bring them the framed remembrance.
Additionally, this week I received an email from an Indiana researcher asking if I could find & place your photo on the "Wall of Faces". I found a photo and submitted it. I also submitted a photo of the Oxford County Vietnam War memorial, where you are honored with 36 other Vietnam Veterans,

Remembering An American Hero
Dear CPL Peter Lee Dube, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
