Friend

Dave, I think of you often. Our year together at Fort Leonard Wood and all the crazy stuff we did. Bringing you home to Whitewater to visit my folks. Your hot car (Charger, I think?) Our trips up to Columbia trying to find girls.
Then running into you in Viet Nam (you were working on the road) on my way to LZ Snoopy just days before your death. After we got settled in, I tried to get you on the radio only to get the sad shocking news.
Hope to see you again some day Dave.

Family service

To David
After your father and my grandfather served in WWII. My father, Uncles, and other relatives served in Vietnam. And my sister and I served during the Irag/Aghanistan era. I was proud to visit your name at the wall. Thank you cousin David. We come from a long line that served. Airborne and God rest your soul.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear 1LT David Michael Drob, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
