The Real Rocky
Rocky was the son of my mom's best friend. I was only 4 when he died so I had no idea, but I was told about him from a very young age. My dad was a WWII veteran who always reminded me, "I am not a hero. The one's who never came home are the heroes." Rest in Peace Rocky. I wish I could have met you.

Twilight's Remember
Rocky and I were in a rock band ("Twilight's") back in the early 60's in Monahans, Texas. Rocky was our bass player at the time and he sure had a way with the girls. We played all over west Texas and southern New Mexico. Although our group had broken up and moved on, I as well the other players in the band were devastated when we heard the news of Rocky's death. We certainly miss him and salute his service and dedication. HL "Buck" Bartell

Tribute to Rocky Armstead
Ronda Dee Armstead. I hope you see this. My name is Joy and we are having a mini 101 st Airborne reunion and we will be honoring Rocky. One of the Vietnam Veterans attending the Reunion-Jay Garrett also lived in Monahans, so he knew Rocky. I am so sorry for your loss. The tribute will be very respectful. We will always appreciate Rocky's sacrifice for America....and his family's sacrifice. Take care and God bless.

In Honor of your memory and for your daughter
I thank Warrant Officer Armstead for his courage and sacrifice. I also give thanks for the daughter he left behind. She has not forgotten him and is doing amazing things for military children all over the world.
