THE WALL OF FACES

Today I asked my dad if he ever thought about looking up old Navy buddies. Without hesitation he said Cliff Dowling. "I was his best man." He told me a few stories, which he hasn't ever done with me before. Dad doesn't talk much about his war. I googled Cliff and here I am, feeling heartbroken for a man who died 7 months before I was born. Thank You Cliff and to your family, I offer my love.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.

Although we never met personally, I want to thank you Clifford Franklin Dowling, for your courageous and valiant service, years of faithfully contributing, and most holy sacrifice, given to this great country of ours!

Your Spirit is alive--and strong, therefore Mate, you shall never be forgotten, nor has your death been in vain!
