Ron worked in ER at 24th Evac Hosp in late 67. He wanted to fly DustOff so bad, and was finally accepted. He flew in to our hosp. a few times later and left his calling card. Nice guy

"Where ya from?"
Doolittle came thru the MASH unit postop inflatable where I was recuperating from surgery. We struck up a conversation and he asked "where ya from?" I said Vallejo, CA and he lit up, saying that he was from Santa Rosa! His unit was celebrating 6 months in-country and he asked if I'd like something to drink? I asked for a whiskey and coke and he returned in 5 minutes with my cocktail. He had a fellow medic take a polaroid of us together that I have to this day. That was such a bright spot in an otherwise gloomy time.
