I will never forget

I will never forget the way you always included me in your big boy plans and taught me how to compete in sports. You were kind, respectful and most importantly courageous and brave in your sacrifice and service to our country. I visited the wall and found you again in 2004 and reflected on all of the memories with you and your family that I still cherish. The fun times we had on Manhattan Ave. can never be replicated. I broke down the day I received the news in my driveway and at the wall. I have a hole in my heart that will be there until I die. I still pray for you and other special people that have passed and hope by the grace of God, our paths may cross again.

Lodi

I trained with him at Ft. Polk, La. I went to Vietnam as well and was assigned to the 101st Airborne, 187th Infantry. I was WIA. To me, he was just Armato but he was my friend. My most vivid memory is hanging out at the PX one weekend drinking beer and listening to the CCR song “Stuck In Old Lodi Again” all day. I actually heard of his death in Vietnam. What a loss.
