Bracelet
I have just finished reading THE WOMEN and remembered that I had worn a bracelet for those MIA during the Vietnam War. I had prayed for Lt. Col. Ward Dodge as I wore the bracelet. I do not remember taking it off after the many pilots were released. I had forgotten about the bracelet, but it found it in a memory box. RIP

Bracelet
I wore your POW bracelet as a child. Recently I found it in my jewelry box. With the internet, I was able to look you up after 55 years. I was in elementary school when I was given the bracelet with your name on it. I knew nothing at the time (I was around 6 years old.). I am not sure anyone will read this, but if they do I would be glad to pass along the bracelet to a loved of yours.

Forever
FOREVER REMEMBERED
"If you are able, save for them a place inside of you....and save one backward glance when you are leaving for the places they can no longer go.....Be not ashamed to say you loved them....
Take what they have left and what they have taught you with their dying and keep it with your own....And in that time when men decide and feel safe to call the war insane, take one moment to embrace those gentle hero’s you left behind...."
Quote from a letter home by Maj. Michael Davis O'Donnell
KIA 24 March 1970. Distinguished Flying Cross: Shot down and Killed while attempting to rescue 8 fellow soldiers surrounded by attacking enemy forces.
We Nam Brothers pause to give a backward glance, and post this remembrance to you, one of the gentle heros lost to the War in Vietnam:
Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul ... and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.

It's been a long time
I wore your bracelet Colonel for over 30 years. I gave it to my grandson, he is a First Lieutenant in Artillery/Airborne at Ft. Bragg(Friendly). It made me remember your sacrifice and that of all who went before.
I want my GS to carry your bracelet in memory.
