Never Forgotten

Soon to be 50 years of missing you. Often wonder what life would have been like had you come home. I do the reunions of your old outfit alone and wish you were there. Am so proud of the man you were as I hear the stories from your brothers in arms and how highly you are thought of by these men. Because of you they accept me as family.

Forever A Friend

Dear dear Steve. I remember the days of sitting next to you at Faust Jr High. How the staff picked on you for being your own unique personality. You were a well dressed guy but was constantly criticized for your Beatle Haircut and Slim fit pants and Button down collared shirts! Looking back from this day, they would realized how rediculous they were. In hindsight, you would have been considered one of the "best dressed guys there, You were such a kind person. We had many conversations in school and on the phone in the evenings about your girlfriends and family. We had many laughs as well. You were a true friend. I remember like yesterday, the day we ran into each other and you told me you had enlisted. You said you were going ti Vietnam and you wouldn't be back! I told you not to say that and you said you were serious! My heart sunk when I read in the newspaper that you were MIA....but felt a glimmer of hope that you were still alive and then came the news that you were not! What a sad, sickening day. I had not talked to you since before you left but your friendship and your memory still lives! Thank you for your service and your friendship! You are a true hero! Forever in Our Hearts!
