honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. In the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.

Thank You

Dear PFC Gary Dieu,
Thank you for your service as an Indirect Fire Infantryman with the 12th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry. Memorial Day is coming up, and we remember all you who gave their all. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Hello and God Bless

Hello Gary,

You don't know me because I wasn't born yet. You weren't even around when my mom was thought of, but your still family. No matter what papers say. I would be your grandson-in-law. I will not forget you. I've heard about you before I went to that wall. I did not know your story until they mentioned your name at the ceremony where they honored the dead. When I heard your story, your wife, Sharon, my grandmother, cried. She cried and cried. I was in my Army uniform, which I'm sure you'd be proud of, and I held her while she cried and a Sergeant gave her a red rose and she placed it on your panel. She kissed her finger and wiped it on your name while whispering "I love you and I miss you." I'm sure you heard you because you're watching over her. I have your plague with your name on it and your flag they gave to your wife at your funeral. It lays on my desk everyday since I received it. It will stay their everyday until I move into a new home when I join the army. I will keep it with me forever and I will remember your. You made a great sacrifice for your country, and your men. I will never, ever forget that.

Yours truly, Cameron Nason. I will give your little memorial in my room a thirty second salute in your honor.
