Larry Arthur Diefenbach
Larry and I entered the Army along with several others at the Dearborn County Court House in Lawrenceburg, IN on Nov. 2, 1966. We were inducted in Cincinnati, OH and spent our first night in the Army in a hotel in Cincy because of a major snow storm. We went to Ft. Knox, KY for basic training. Larry was really a friendly young man and I know it was rough on him being away from his family, especially since he was married. He wasn't the type to be real out going but once you got to know him he had that special knack and sense of humor to make you laugh. It's a shame that such nice young American soldiers
never got the chance to come back home and have a nice life and live the " American Dream ". It was young men just like Larry who were willing to serve their country that keep this country great and will continue to do so for years to come. May he rest in peace and stay in the memories of those who knew him and cared for him.
