REMEMBERANCE

I REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE PRACTICING HIGH HURDLES ONE SATERDAY AFTERNOON AT
THE EAGLES NEST. YOU, ME, TOMMY, JIMMY WEBER FROM RIBAULT. WE TALKED ABOUT
OUR FUTURES AND WE DECIDED SINCE YOU LIKED POLITICS THAT YOU WOULD BE
GOVERNOR OF FLORIDA ONE DAY. WE WERE ALL GOING TO VOTE FOR YOU. IN OUR HEARTS
WE HAVE MANY TIMES. I HAVE NEVER FORGOTTEN YOU OLD FRIEND, NEVER.

I served with him

Charles and I were the squad leaders for A/2/12 First Calvary Division from June, 1968 to when I went home in February 1969. Several years after I left Vietnam, I found out Charles had died. He was a good guy and his death hurt. I know he is safe now.

My good friend Chuck

Chuck and I were friends in Vietnam in the Spring of 1969. One night he totally explained "Alice's Resataurant to me" ... I was his RTO (Radio operator)for a month or so ... he told me Jacksonville was the largest city in the United Sates ( mileage wise) ... we never forget. Lary

Golden Eagles

Dear Charles, You have not been forgotten over all these years. I am a former classmate of yours from Paxon High School Class of 1968. You barely knew me, but I knew you and have been aware of you and your family's sacrifice all these years. My husband went to Paxon and graduated in 1965. He was drafted in 1967 and sent to Viet Nam just 10 months after we were married. My husband lost a leg in Viet Nam, and we are grateful that he made it home at all. We will always remember you "Chuck", your classmates from Paxon, Yvonne and Sam.
