Bronze Star Medal Award(s)

Staff Sergeant Elmer W Dickens was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, with Oak Leaf Cluster, for his exemplary courage under fire. He served as an Infantryman and was assigned to C Co. 1st Bn, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry Div.

Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. I had researched you on your 84th birthday, so happy belated birthday. Yesterday was Mother's Day, and I wish you all were here with your moms. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
