Final Mission of PFC Larry W. Dennis
PFC Larry W. Dennis was an armored cavalry assault vehicle driver serving with I Troop, 3rd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry. On September 12, 1969, Dennis was the driver of a M113 armored personnel carrier (APC) during a reconnaissance in force mission when it hit an anti-tank mine four miles southwest of An Loc City in Binh Long Province, RVN. He was admitted to the 2nd Surgical Hospital in critical condition with injuries to his feet and legs, right hand, and right chest. His condition worsened, and on September 21, 1969, Dennis succumbed to his injuries. He was both posthumously promoted to Corporal and awarded the Bronze Star medal for heroism. Thank You
Dear Cpl Larry Dennis,
Thank you for your service as an Armor Reconnaissance Specialist. Monday was the 43rd anniversary of the Fall of Saigon. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
