GOOD MEMORIES

Stan and I served together as riggers in the 82nd and had many good times during overnight pass to places near and far from Ft. Bragg. After being transferred to line companies and spending 6 months in the Dominican Republic we received our orders for Viet Nam together during the Thanksgiving holiday of 1965. We were again separated upon arrival in country, Stan to alfa and me to bravo companies, 1st of the 327th. 101st airborne. The day I was wounded Stan was killed but I didn't find out till I read his name on the causality list in the Stars and Stripes news paper. I've visited the wall and found his name. He was a good man and a good friend and I think of him often.

I Remember Demboski - He was a likeable Character

He and I served together in the rigger company, supply and transport battalion in the 82nd ABN. He always had a grin on that baby face of his and you could tell he was up to something. When the Dominican Republic crisis came up a lot of us were shipped out to the infantry units. Later upon our return in late October 1965 we received orders for Vietnam. He was assigned to the 1/327 Inf. 1st BDE 101st ABN as I was. He went to A company and I went to B company after My Cann II on Feb. 7, 1966. He was killed at My Phu which was hard fighting when his company came to the aid of B company.

I am so sorry he died in that tragic war. May God Bless him.

Thank You

Dear PFC Stanley Demboski,
Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Infantryman. Today is the 43rd anniversary of the Fall of Saigon. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
