Love You My Dear Brother

Forty -- this is one of your little sisters, and you'll know which one. I've been reading about the border patrol duties during the Vietnam turmoil. I was a teenager in high school when you left us. You were a very brave, courageous, and strong young man, you were amazing! I can only now imagine what you went through. Thank you doesn't seem enough, but, know that you will always be loved and missed by your siblings, and many, many others. Two of Genie's sons joined the Army. Martin as you know has joined you in heaven, (Afghan turmoil), he was also a brave and fine young man. We all miss him dearly as well. Eddie has become a fine young man, and soldier, and remains in the military. Brother I love you and miss you always, but we'll see each other again. Thank you doesn't seem enough, but thank you for your great service to the USA. Your family never, ever forgets you. Rest in peace my wonderful brother -- brave and courageous Sailor!! And thank you to all the other brave women, and men who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

To my uncle Fortino

Uncle Fortino, I hope this message finds you in heaven, with loved ones and in peace and happiness. I never met you, but I, like you, saw fit to serve my country. And I, like you, met time and again with the adversary. I think you had some part in keeping me safe, thank you for watching over me. I know you welcomed my brother up there when his time came and and he was taken from this world to yours. I love you both, rest in peace uncle.
