THE WALL OF FACES

I knew Alan from our Algebra 2 class with Mr. Pearson. He was 2 years older but we were part of a group that hung out together in the spring of 1967 at Delavan-Darien High School in Wisconsin. He was a fun loving guy who was friends with everyone. I remember where I was when I heard he had been killed. I cried as like many soldiers from Vietnam he was so young. I will never forget his kindness to this young girl.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from your friend Dale Millard is touching. As long as you are remembered you will always be with us.

Al, I think about often. 53 years ago today we lost a great Marine. Rest in Peace. Semper Fi from one of your Boot Camp buddies of Platoon 1072.
