Remembering Ray and all of the other heros that served and didn't return
I am an A-3 NFO, and was sent to the Oriskany to replace Ray after the accident. I will never cease wondering why I came back, and others didn't. Even though Ray and I never met, he is still a part of my life.

Ray, we go back to AOCS when we were Officer Candidates. I remember our time at NATTC Brunswick where we finished up Airborne Electronic Warfare School. I still tell the story about the maraschino "cherry' pie. I have missed your Italian-New Yorker sense of humor ever since we failed that Radar Nav mission at VAH-123. I was very angry with your pilot, the US Navy, and even God for your death. I've harbored that anger for many years. It took a lot of therapy to drop the anger.
