Worse Day of My Life
December 7th 1969 I was flying a Phantom 3 mission supporting the local Province military near Soc Trang RVN with WO1 Robert DeVinney flying from the front seat. We had just pulled up from a strafing attack in support of our lead aircraft when Bob was mortally wounded from enemy ground fire. I flew him as fast as possible to the nearest hospital at Bin Thuy AB but he never regained consciousness.

We Will Remember
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Thank You
Dear WO Robert De Vinney,
Thank you for your service as an Attack Helicopter Pilot. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Photo remembrance of Robert Eugene DeVinney
Photo and information was taken from the historic book “THE FACES BEHIND THE NAMES - The Vietnam War” with the permission of author Don Ward. Thank you Mr. Ward and Bob’s family.
Bob, it is with great humility, pride and honor that Herb and I post this remembrance for you and upload your photo so that your memory and the sacrifice you made for your country will never be forgotten and to ensure your photo will be displayed on your birthday each and every year when the Education Center is completed. You are not forgotten and remain in the hearts of many after all these years. Thank you Bob for being who you were and for all you did. We live in freedom to this day thanks to heroes like you that answered the call to duty.
