Ground Casualty

SSGT Allen DeNicola was an antenna installer specialist serving at the Phu Lam Signal Facility, U.S. Army Strategic Communications Command (USASTRATCOM), 1st Signal Brigade. The Phu Lam Signal Facility was located on the western outskirts of Saigon in Gia Dinh Province, RVN. On February 12, 1967, SSGT DeNicola was with members of his unit erecting a 204-foot microwave tower when he suffered a fatal heart attack. He was dead on arrival at the field hospital near Bien Hoa.
