A good guy
I remember sitting against a large boulder with him telling me about how he was going on R&R to Hawaii in the next few days to meet his wife and parents. It's such a shame he never made it. He died while they were in Hawaii waiting for him. It will stick in my mind for the rest of my life. He was a good and brave soldier.

Never Forgotten
Always Remembered
Slip off that pack. Set it down by the crooked trail. Drop your steel pot alongside. Shed those magazine-ladened bandoliers away from your sweat-soaked shirt. Lay that silent weapon down and step out of the heat. Feel the soothing cool breeze right down to your soul....and rest forever in the shade of our love, brother.
