when we were kids at home in Idabel, Oklahoma

Gerald , how I have wished I had a chance to see you again before your sacrifice became permanent.I wish you had not re enlisted after you had already served during the Korean Conflict?? I think it was a war. but politics didn't want to call it what it was. I , today am remembering the day when you and J.R. told me if I would climb up on the shed in back and hold onto Aunt Laura's old black umbrella, I could play army with you two. I was five years younger than you and at seven years old, I believed every word you spoke . and I did as directed but it did not act like a parachute, I just went straight to the ground. I was not injured , But you and J.R. got into trouble. Your dad had already moved to California, but left you at home with us until he was in a secure position. Rest in peace. By, Kathy Angelley Herd Younger sister of Jewell R. Angelley , father of Gerald.
