My Husband, My Friend
My dear Jim; Today, March 5th, is the 45th anniversary of your death. I have thoughts of you more days than not and am still so thankful that you were in my life and that of my family and friends. How lucky I was that you said "yes" when I asked you to the Sadie Hawkins party at Sea World! Somehow, when I originally submitted 3 of your photos, the descriptions were never posted, thus I begin from scratch. The school picture was taken as a junior at Mt. Miguel High (how lucky we were to go to 2 proms, since I was a year behind you!). The family picture is of course your mom, dad, sister, Judy and you and I (I could not have found a more loving family to join and share life with - so much like you!) And lastly, you, Norm Gravino and Jerry Bennett at a beach in Vietnam. Judy and I finally got to meet Norm at a Blue Ghost Reunion and it was like he was reliving the day he returned from his leave and was told you had been killed. All we could do was hug and cry...John Harris is always checking on Judy and I too! Jerry has followed me cross country, during all my moves thank goodness, and he and wife, Vickie have ALWAYS been there for Judy, brother Ben and me and our familes. Thank goodness for best friends. I do believe we will be together again one day and until then will treasure my memories and will always love you.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear CPL James David Anella, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter
