1st Lt David B Dann was awarded the Silver Star Medal for his exemplary courage under fire. He served as an Infantry Unit Commander and was assigned to C Co, 1st Bn, 28th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division.

Thank you for your service as an Infantry Unit Commander. Your 77th birthday just passed. Happy Birthday. Today is Good Friday, and Passover begins tonight. Easter is coming up. Happy Easter. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
