Captain Thomas Carl Daffron was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, with Oak Leaf Cluster, for his heroism and extraordinary achievement while engaged in aerial flight. He served as a Pilot, Tactical Fighter, and was assigned to the 557TH TAC FTR SQDN, 12TH TAC FTR WING, 7TH Air Force.
