Family Friend and Neighbor

I remember growing up together. Your family were our nextdoor neighbors. Our parents were best friends. I remember when you went into the Army, your wedding and when you went to Vietnam. I’ll never forget the day the black limousine pulled up at your home. Your funeral was one of the saddest I’ve ever attended. You were so young. You were the only person I really knew who went to VN and you never returned. I think of you and your family so often. I kept the grandfather clock that your Dad made for my parents and seeing it brings back great memories other than your death. I thank you for your service.
