Summary of Service

On 10 May 1968, a detachment of one officer an 43 artillerymen from Battery D, 2nd Battalion, 13th Marines, at Ngok Tavak, five miles south of Kham Duc, was attacked by surrounding elements of the 2nd North Vietnamese Division. Having expended all artillery ammunition in a fierce defense, the Marines disabled their two 105 mm. howitzers and escaped from the camp with Vietnamese irregular troops under Australian command. Thirteen Marine artillerymen and one Marine aviator were killed in the action.

POW/MIA BRACELET DISPLAY - PALM SPRINGS AIR MUSEUM

I am the Curator of the POW/MIA Bracelet Display in the Vietnam Hangar of the Palm Springs Air Museum in Palm Springs, California where we now have over two thousand bracelets honoring POWs, MIAs and KIAs and would be honored to include your bracelet in our Display should you have one. If you no longer have your bracelet or wish to keep yours or are an immediate family member (spouse, fiancé, sibling, child, grandchild, cousin, niece, nephew, or close friend) I can order one for the Display in your name with funds donated by our Museum visitors.

I wore your Mia braclet for many years proudly and when your remains were identified in 2005 I reached out to your folks and told them I wanted them to have it. I want you to know how proud we are of you and all those soldiers and marines who gave their life that day for their country .
May you Rest In Peace
