Misadventure (Friendly fire)
PFC Gregory P. Curtis was an infantryman serving with B Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry. At 6:55 AM on December 14, 1967, PFC Curtis was with his unit on a combat operation in Kontum Province, RVN, when an Arc Light close air support mission was being conducted in the immediate area by B-52F Stratofortresses. Curtis was fatally injured after being hit by fragments when one of the bombs exploded nearby. Two other Americans were wounded in the incident.
