honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from your sister Cheri is touching and reflects the anguish experienced by so many who lost loved ones in this war. As long as you are remembered you will always be with us…..

Misadventure (Friendly fire)

PFC Gregory P. Curtis was an infantryman serving with B Company, 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry. At 6:55 AM on December 14, 1967, PFC Curtis was with his unit on a combat operation in Kontum Province, RVN, when an Arc Light close air support mission was being conducted in the immediate area by B-52F Stratofortresses. Curtis was fatally injured after being hit by fragments when one of the bombs exploded nearby. Two other Americans were wounded in the incident.
