Capt William A. Currence is buried in Bad Tolz, Bavaria, Germany (Coffelt Database).

Captain William Allen Currence, Served with the Corps Aviation Company (Provisional), 212th Aviation Battalion, 16th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade, United States Army Vietnam.

Many years ago (1966 I think) I was living in Bad Toelz Germany where my father was stationed with 10th SFG. I was an Explorer Scout and my scout master was William Currence. I learned alot from him, one of the most important lessons I learned from him was to never quit, never give up! In January 1969 I arrived in RVN, imagine my surprise when I was escorted to a waiting helicopter and finding the pilot to be none other then William Currence. A little while later I learned that he was killed. Cpt Currence you are a hero, a mentor and a role model. Thank You sir for all you did and all you are!

Thank you for your service as a Rotary Wing Aviation Unit Commander - Helicopter Pilot. Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day. Happy St. Pat's. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
