Acquaintance
TO A FALLEN HERO
Wells Eldon Cunningham from St. Joseph, MO lived in the same dormitory, McDavid Hall, as I did at the University of Missouri. This was 1959-1962. I just had a nodding acuaintance with Wells, but he was very enthusiastic about being in ARMY ROTC. You could tell he was proud of his uniform and where he was going; to a commission in the Army. He was sent to Viet Nam arriving there 3/6/1966. Sadly, he was killed by enemy fire 8/16/1966 at only 26 years old. I know his family is proud of him, and miss him very much. LIke the others who serve our country, he is a hero.

Not Forgotten
Sir,
You were my Basic Training Company Commander (B-3-2), Ft. Leonard Wood, Aug-Oct 1965.
You must have taught me really well (thanks). I made two tours and luckily came back in one piece.
Thank you, sir.
