I served with Scott F Andresen

I was with C co, 2nd & 5th 1st Air Cav, AM Feb. 1969-Feb. 1970 and I was in the same battle(firefight) that took Scotts life it was a pretty bad firefight I was sent from my foxhole to another foxhole to reinforce the area and there was one of our guys KIA and I have never forgotten his face when I saw him I dint know if this was Scott or not we only lost two guys that night but this was the same firefight (battle). I am so sorry for all of the family or friends I didn't know him personally but he just may be the face That has been in my mind all these years. God Bless all of you and the men and women who proudly serve our country today. you may reach me by email anytime if you want to talk or get more info.

Remembering an American Hero

Dear CPL Scott Frederick Andresen, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for the ultimate sacrifice that you made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. And please know that men and women like you have stepped forward to defend our country yet again, showing the same love for country and their fellow Americans that you did- you would be proud.

With respect, and the best salute that a civilian can muster for you.

Curt Carter

My Step-son

Scott F. Andresen was mt step-son. Loved him as my own. His mother died of cancer. We had a good relationship. He regarded me as his mother. He was an avid reader. He was a member of the fish and game club. Loved bowling, skiing, and many other sports, and he just loved his home. He took a home course for two years about government, which he wanted to pursue. He was drafted the year he graduated in 1967, went in the service in 1968, went to Vietnam in 1969 and was killed. He was only there for two weeks. He was a great son to be proud of. His father was a WWII veteran. He died a few years later. Scott, I love you and miss you very much. You will always be in my heart, and keep your memory alive after I am gone.
