The Churchyard

I was there Stubby that day in May at the Churchyard."Lame Duck Sierra to the front of the column." and was told "Stubby's dead." You were my friend and I choked back tears when your body was recovered the next day. I think of you every day. Until Valhalla Semper Fidelis

Remembering An American Hero

Dear HN David Newton Cummings, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

From an old corpsman friend

We were on Guam together, working at the Naval hospital. We shared the same barracks, laughed together and off we went to Pendleton, then Vietnam. I don't know what hit the fan that week in Quang Tri, but it looks like 5 or 6 of you corpsmen had your hands full patching each other up, along with your share of fellow Marines. I guess it was time to stock up on Corpsmen in heaven. It was sad when I heard what happened. I've thought of you and our corpsmen friends for the past 35 years, and you are not forgotten. I see your faces in our flag, waving so beautiful. You will always be remembered my friend.

Semper Fi,

Mitch
