ALWAYS IN MY THOUGHTS

I served with Doc in Hotel CO, CP, 2/1. He arrived in Nam only a few months before he lost his life. I often thought that Doc, with his fair complexion, should never have been in Nam. He blistered badly from exposure to that hot tropical sun. One of my fond memories of Doc was that we were always partners when we played the card game of trumps. We were on Operation Pipestone Canyon and sweeping Go Noi Island when Doc lost his life by a booby trap that also wounded me and another Marine. Although I remember vividly the events that followed, in respect for his family, I won't go into details. For the short time I served with him, Doc became a good friend. My respect for him and all Corpsman is immeasurable. When called "Mother up", he and all his fellow Corpsman was always there. Thank you Doc. You will never be forgotten. We'll meet again.

Neighborhood Friend

Terry was older than me by a few years. He and his brothers always made the younger boys welcome at their home. We were members of the same Boy Scout Troop 7 at Lincoln School Bloomington Il. Gary Goldsmith
