to the Family of William Cruikshank

I was stationed at Nha Be in the crew that included William. I read the remembrance written by Tim Howland. He captured the chaos of the day and what was happening. I was at the memorial service in which the helo pad was named in honor of your uncle. He was an outstanding person and a dedicated sailor. It was my priviledge to have served with William Cruikshank.

To the family of William Cruikshank

My name is Joseph P. Golden. In 1969, I was stationed at the helo pad in Nha Be. I was a member of the crew that included William. I read the remembrance that Tim Howland wrote. He captured the chaos of that day in his post. I was also at the memorial service where the helo pad was named in honor of your uncle. It was my priviledge to have served with such an outstanding sailor. His service and his dedication to duty shall not be forgotten.

Uncle Bill

50 years ago today in Vietnam, our family lost an incredible member, and the country gained another hero. I would like to THANK EVERYONE who took the time to leave a thank you, or remembrance of my uncle. I would also like, if possible? To ask the gentleman that left the incredible story of my uncle's sacrifice that fateful day 50 years ago to provide us your name please. Your story has meant so much to us and helped us to heal and understand that his death was not in vain. Again, thank you to everyone, and a HUGE! thank you to all of those who served.
