A Dream

Rick Crudo was my friend at East Meadow High and we were on the rifle team together.

I recently had a very vivid dream that I was walking down the street and I saw him, leaning against a wall, alive and well with a big smile on his face. I was thrilled. I said, "Rick, I thought you died in Vietnam! One of the guys from school told me about it." He laughed and said something like, "Well don't believe everything those guys say."

When I woke up I checked the internet to see if his name was on the Memorial Wall casualty list. I did not see it and I concluded that Richard was, in fact, still alive. I was enormously pleased. Today, I happened to check again and I found this memorial page. I was shocked and saddened. However, a wonderful Spirit-filled friend explained that I should be happy. She said that my dream of Rick alive and well was about his present state in the Heavenly Kingdom. A reassurance that while he has been temporarily lost to those of us on earth, he is enjoying a far sweeter existence ... and that's why he had that big smile in my dream. Praise the Lord!

Remembering An American Hero

Dear Mr. Richard F Crudo, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
