THANK YOU

Dear Sp5 Dennis Crow,
Thank you for your service as an O-1/U-6 Airplane Repairman. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Helicopter Recovery

Visited with James and his comrades at "The Moving Wall" in Germantown WI yesterday. I served aboard the minesweeper USS Conflict MSO 426 as Engineering Officer. We were called upon to locate two downed helicopters in our patrol area and assist in the recovery operation. Although the operation was successful it was a sobering experience for the entire crew. I do have pictures of the recovery operations from our WESTPAC 1969 tour of duty if anyone has an interest.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear SP5 James Dennis Crow, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

I remember James D. Crow

I was with Jim when we first arrived in Vietnam. We were assigned to IFFV Head Quarters Co. Avation Detachment. We were then assigned to 201st in November of 1967. We went on leave together in June of 1968. We overstayed our leave and went back to Fort Lewis Washington 45 days AWOL. When we got there we had to report to an Officer because we were AWOL. He asked us how many days AWOL,we told him 45 days. He told us he was looking for guys AWOL 6months to a year, just report back to your units. WE were there for a week and we ditched every detail that they tried to give us, which we had alot of fun doing.
