do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush

THANK YOU
Dear Sp4 Gary Cross,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Childhood friend ??
Butch and I were inseparable when we were about 4 years old, lived across the street from each other in Hopkins. We found a tr treasure of pop bottles behind Milo Wilsons store, ?? Didn't know we were selling Milo his own pop bottles for two cents each ??Then we moved to graham, his sister Patsy was staying with us when she got sick and passed away. Great memories of the whole family.

I Remember Gary and that LZ in the Ashau
I am a former friend of Gary. I am SP4 Steven McCown, rifleman in the 2nd/327th Infantry, 101st Air Borne Division. I knew enough of Gary to know he was from Missouri and a good young man. Kinda quiet, soft spoken, but friendly and easy to laugh. About all we shared was our platoon and that I was from Missouri too (Kansas City). But I knew I liked him from the start.
The evening that Gary was hit, our platoon was on a mission, a chopper assault into the Ashau Valley. We had landed and had formed into a defensive perimeter around the landing zone and were waiting to move out into a night position. Then the rockets came...a dozen or more flew over my head, one, then another and another, hitting inside the LZ (behind me). They say Gary took a direct hit and never had a chance. It broke my heart then and still does...God bless you Gary
