I remember you

I lived next door to the Anderson's on Howard st, I remember when he went into the service of our country, and I remember hearing the news he was killed in VN. I was younger, just a kid in 8th grade, and he was the first that I knew to give his life in that war. To this day, almost 50 years later, when ever I hear the word Vietnam, just the word, I think of him, his older brother, his brother BOb, and sister Paula, my parents talking about him and what it meant. The loss of a man I never really knew, but from what I've heard, and read, a man I would have liked to know. Rest in peace Wayne. Mark Mousseaux

A brother

Wayne was my best friend. I knew him back in the late 60's better than any other, because we simply spent so much time together. In those bygone days we spoke of dreams, double dated, and fought back to back... carefree young men laughing down the wind. He was extremely intelligent, honourable, fiercely loyal, and unbelievably courageous...'A Natural' just being himself. No language exists which can emotively describe the gaping absence which abruptly occurred to many many lives when he left. Not enough has, or can ever be said about him. America lost one of it's brightest stars on Dec 3 1969 and everyone in that great nation felt it but did not know what it was.

Simply saying "thank you" seems so inadequate

SSG Anderson,

I've lived in your hometown since 2013. Until yesterday, I didn't know that Pullman had sent such a valorous and obviously exceptional young man to fulfill his duty to our country. My wife and I visited your final resting place on Memorial Day. There are no words to fully express our gratitude for your sacrifice. We pray that your soul is resting in the highest heaven.
