Lead his men - Loved his men
Captain Crocker was a leader who lead by example and loved his men as leaders should. His love was exemplified by leading and giving of himself sacrificially. He died for who and what he believed in; his men, his country, and mostly his God. I was just a lowly infantryman in the weapons platoon but I admired and looked up to his character qualities - even after over 51 years. I not only remember David Crocker but also his family who, I am sure, have been remembering and missing him all these years. May God comfort and keep you in His care as He is surely doing for David.
