Childhood friend

Warren and his family would always come up from Omaha and visit the Anderson farm we rented. He would always catch my childhood fast ball, shake off his glove and say, “WOW that’s was a burner!” I was maybe 9. Couldn’t have hurt that bad? I was 13 when he was killed. I to this day get teared up when I think of him. All blessings are paid for in blood. Our eternal by Christ alone who is with Warren right now. Our temporal by the brothers and sister we love. Rest in peace my brother and friend. Thank you for your sacrifice. See ya soon.

do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

As long as you are remembered you will never truly die....

Best Friend

You were my best friend when we were kids and lived on Fort Street in Omaha, then I moved to Rockford IL at nine years old. I still think of you often and always will.
