BM1 Walter G. Anderson was a Boatswains Mate serving on the harbor tug USS Tuscumbia (YTB-762). On February 21, 1968, YTB-762 was towing YFNB-18, a non-self-propelled floating workshop in the Da Nang Harbor in Quang Nam Province, RVN, when BM1 Anderson reportedly fell into the water and drowned.
