I feel so guilty for surviving

On 4-20-69, At about 8:45 AM, while we were in heavy contact, Carl was hit while piloting on a gun run. We impacted with Carl being KIA, all others (3), were injured. I was the only walking wounded. Surrounded and getting shot at, another aircraft landed and evacuated us to CU Chi hospital. Terrible day. Years ago I did call Carl’s parents to let them know details and there was no pain. I hope it helped. Miss you Carl

Mr Creal, I was enlisted and required to address Warrants as MR

Carl was flying as my pilot on 4-20-1969 when were shot down 50 years ago today approximately 8:45 am. I remember it as if yesterday. Years ago I called his mom and dad to tell them the details. Sad phone call, I cried. Think of Carl often. I wish his brother would contact. RIP Mr Creal I salute you!????

I Still remember

Carl is in my thoughts today; Carl was my friend from high school, and Harbor JC. Really miss his friendship with our first cars ,his chevy wagon, and my 52' chevy. He loved to surf,I was never any good at that, but he was a great friend.
