I Remember

I think in July of 1968 your unit, MTT-2 and leader William C Cue came to our location at the airfield outside of Tam Ky along the Tam Ky river. I think you were with me and 5 Vietnamese PF's on an ambush on night. We encountered the lead element of a battalion of NVA. The incident report did not even mention our encounter but said there were about 40 VC. I had never heard the war whoops like that before or since except once on TV. You guys left and were overrun about a month later. Six of you died, including Cue, Rafiel Avila,Michael A Griggs, Peter J Lovan, Charles H Millner and 2 reactionary guys Larry Jamerson and Billy J Taylor.

Thank you for your service to our country.

Hello my name is Jaxon I am 6yrs old. For this Memorial Day my mom and dad took me to visit the Vietnam Memorial Wall here in Layton, Utah. They gave me a piece of paper to rub two names on. You were the first name I chose because your name is David like my dad. Then we took your name and information from the wall and looked you up so that I could learn more about you, your life, and your sacrifice. Thank you for helping keep our country free for me, my family, and everyone here.

Love,
Jaxon Woods
